Evening event | Small-Town America through the eyes of Francesco Conversano
10 April 2025The exhibition Esodo Pratelli. From Futurism to the "Novecento" and beyond, curated by Elena Pontiggia, traces in chronological order the artistic phases of artist Esodo Pratelli, whose works are linked to realism and more markedly to symbolism, to then embrace the Futurist aesthetic in the first decade of the 20th century, and enter in the 1920s the Italian Novecento.
Fondazione Cirulli participates in the exhibition with the loan of a selection of works mostly belonging to the Futurist period, including the studies for the costumes and set design of the opera written by his cousin Balilla Pratella entitled L'Aviatore Dro (1913). This is his first officially Futurist set design, carried out for the first time in 1920, in which one can perceive the predilection for synthesis, for the line undulating linearity, and a tension towards the infinite.
